​Churches across Arkansas: We are challenging YOU to be proactive about Abuse Prevention + Response. 

There are 3 simple steps to completing the challenge: 

1. Download The Essentials 

• The Southern Baptist Convention(SBC) offers a range of valuable, free resources designed specifically for Southern Baptist churches to enhance their efforts in preventing and responding to sexual abuse. To access these resources and support your church's commitment to safeguarding its members, you can visit their website here. You can download the Essentials: Sexual Abuse Prevention + Response Guide by clicking here.

2. Train Leaders in Your Church

• Once you've become familiar with The Essentials, the next step is scheduling trainings for leaders in your church who work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults. In these trainings, you will teach them about The Essentials. You can schedule and conduct the trainings yourself using the resources provided by the SBC, or reach out to us to partner with you in conducting a MinistrySafe Training! 

3. Implement Practices for Abuse Prevention and Response

• Now that you know about The Essentials and your leaders are well trained, the next step is implementing best practices for Abuse Prevention + Response. It is important to keep these practices up to date and to schedule trainings regularly so that when policies change or new leaders come on board - everyone is aware and equipped to protect the vulnerable.
