Your Abuse Prevention + Response Consultant
The Arkansas Baptist State Convention is dedicated to advancing safety and security within Arkansas Baptist Churches through a comprehensive and proactive approach. The mission of the Abuse Prevention + Response(APR) Consultant is to inform, educate, and train in best practices for preventing abuse, responding to incidents with sensitivity and effectiveness, and providing compassionate, ongoing support for survivors.
The APR Consultant assists churches in the following areas:
Prevention Planning
- Collaborates closely with churches to develop and implement abuse prevention programs that are tailored to their needs and contexts
- Provides in-depth training to equip church leaders, staff, and volunteers with the knowledge and tools necessary to recognize potential risks, implement preventative measures, and respond appropriately when concerns arise
Response Strategies
- Offers guidance on crafting effective response strategies that prioritize the safety and well-being of all individuals involved
- Assists churches in creating and maintaining clear policies and procedures for responding to situations of abuse, ensuring that they are both legally compliant and aligned with best practices for survivor support
Ongoing Support
- Provides ongoing support and resources for survivors of abuse
- Helps churches develop compassionate care plans and support systems that address the emotional and psychological needs of survivors, fostering a healing environment within the community
