Pray First is a prayer initiative of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. As Arkansas Baptists, we understand the important role prayer has in our individual walks with the Lord and our collective work for the Kingdom. Every day is a good day to pray. Every occasion is one where prayer has a place. Through different events like the annual Statewide Ministers Prayer Gathering in August and the Prayer Workshop at the Evangelism Conference, we learn about the value of prayer and are encouraged to "seek first the Kingdom of God," (Matthew 6:33).

Together, we also begin every year in prayer, following the commandment to "set your minds on things above," (Colossians 3:2). But it doesn't stop here.

We believe our Heavenly Father uses prayer to minister to our hearts. We also realize the powerful difference prayer can make in Arkansas Baptist ministry. Through prayer, we are emboldened to share the Gospel. Through our obedience to pray, God unifies us with Himself and His children. There is power in His name to break every chain, restore all that is broken, and bring the prodigal back home.
