The Institute (formerly named the Delta Institute) has been a beacon of light and hope to bi-vocational pastors and church leaders across the state. While it provides seminary level classes to those that otherwise would not have access, it also provides a lifeline of connection and relationships. Pastors in West Helena, Little Rock, Marion, Monticello and a new site in El Dorado have all benefitted from The Institute. Over the last two years alone, The Institute has seen more than 100 students register for classes and added four new affiliates to the ABSC family with more in the works.

On September 14, 2021, history was made when a brand new ABSC affiliate in El Dorado, Arkansas launched an Institute site for pastors in the surrounding areas. This site is currently the largest Institute site with more than 20 students, two potential affiliates and one new African American church plant and an Anglo sponsor church. The Institute is evidence that God’s light shines through the lens of academics.

PRAYER POINTS: Pray for individual and collective growth of the church leaders participating in The Institute. Pray for more hosts, catalysts and instructors to reach more remote parts of the state.  Pray for the unity of The Institute to spread cross-culturally from border to border of the state.
