Church Leaders Show Commitment to Next Generation
On August 8 and 9, more than 400 pastors, staff members, youth leaders, and children’s leaders from all over Arkansas gathered in 19 different locations around the state for Generation Revitalization conferences. Generation Revitalization, also known as GenRev, was designed to encourage and equip churches to reach and disciple children and youth in their communities.
GenRev is a part of the ABSC Church Revitalization emphasis because an intentional focus on impacting children and youth with the Gospel is a vital component to church revitalization.
Leaders from 145 Arkansas churches attended the conferences. After enjoying a time of worship led by worship leaders from across the state, they participated in breakout sessions with various pastors, student ministers, children’s ministers, and members of the ABSC staff. In these sessions, they discussed essential elements for an effective youth and children’s ministry.
"Josiah, Esther, David, and the early disciples prove that God can use young men and women to revitalize a people,” said Warren Gasaway, Youth Specialist on the ABSC’s Evangelism and Church Health Team. “We are praying for revival, so we need the foundations in place for God to send it. Generation Revitalization helped youth and children ministries all over the state of Arkansas to structure for revival and growth."
